About The Program

Our Story

At MCC - Maple Woods Veterinary Technology, we believe that working with live animals makes the learning experience fun and effective.

We make sure that each animal is socialized, trained, and fully vetted, including spaying, neutering and dental cleanings.

We've been giving the best care to the adoptable animals from our program since 1975.

The MCC Veterinary Technology Program receives dogs and cats from regional animal shelters each semester. The program veterinary medical team and the veterinary technician students work throughout the semester to ensure the dogs and cats are healthy, socialized and ready for a loving family to adopt them.

The animals are adopted to families during the semester and can be taken home at the end of the semester once they have received all of their care. Animals available for adoption will be posted on our website from mid-February to the first of May, and from mid-September to the first of December.

The program appreciates donations to help offset the costs of the animal care. If you are interested in visiting with the dogs and cats in the program to see if they would be a good addition for your family, please schedule an appointment by calling  816.604.3235.
